Fifa World Cup 2022 Anthem by Nicki Minaj, Maluma, Myriam Fares
Just in time for the World Cup, Nicki Minaj, Maluma, and Myriam Fares of Lebanon released their brand-new single.
The trilingual song, “Tukoh Taka,” has vocals in English, Spanish, and Arabic that are related to the tournament in Qatar.
On the iTunes charts, “Tukoh Taka” ranked at No. 3, behind Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero” and “Unholy” by Sam Smith and Kim Petras.
Since, the music video uploaded on FIFA’s YouTube channel has received 9.2 million views.
This World Cup anthem continues the tradition of other famous soccer anthems.
After releasing “Copa de la Vida” during the 1998 World Cup, Ricky Martin won a Grammy.
Shakira released “Waka Waka” twelve years later, and it amassed 3.2 billion views on Youtube and peaked at number 38 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
At today’s FIFA Fan Festival, where host nation Qatar will begin the competition against Ecuador in Group A play, Maluma and Myriam will perform the popular song.
On Monday at 2 p.m., the US will play Wales to start its run. At 8 a.m., England and Iran will face off in the remaining Group B matchups.
